    Xbox con

Bought xbox 360 with knect, what a racket that is. Knowing nothing about xbox who would guess they would sell a console with 4gb of memory & the only option they give you is a cheap hdd at a rip off price. The first one i came across ?125. you would have to be nuts. The only other way is to buy a proper one and void the warranty, how else am i to store game saves. It smacks of a expensive advert where the buyer pays through the nose for the commercial and the product.I'm not a happy camper just feel like i've been kippered up.Especially as i bought it as a gift for someone who now feels let down. This is for micro con

A HDD transplant doesn't void your warranty its a consumable item, it voids your warranty on the hard drive but not the actual xbox.

I've got no experience with the xbox slims new housing, but if its an old xbox then its just a few torx screws on the HDD enclosure, detatch the cable and then transplant in the new 250gb flashed drive and your up and running.

I've done a couple now and filled them with games so i don't need to put up with the drive spinning noise.
Official drives are a complete ripoff.

Hi you say you've filled with games? does this mean you have JTAG'd them?

Nope just installed em, that way the DVD drive only needs to read the auth data from the disks and power down so I don't need to hear the drive spinning constantly.

So you have the games on HDD but you stll need to put the disk in to start the game? Once you stick the disk in to authenticate it, how then do you get it to play from HDD?

I'm interested as my drive is quite noisy aswell

                    Regards

Slap a game in and hit Y.
                      Click install.
Once its installed your good to go. It just works.
