do you need to buy new xbox to play kinect

Hi peeps, just got a text from my x, my son wants the new kinect, but he's told his mum that he needs a new xbox to play it, now im pretty sure this is untrue, he has an xbox at his mums thats about 2years old and he has 1 up here that i have flashed, so i dont know if he's at it or just doesn't know, can anyone confirm that you can or cant use your original xbox with the kinect, thanks

u dont need a new box m8 but u will need a harddrive instead of a memory card l read

You will need the new dashboard as well.
You can download that on pc and stick it on a USB stick or DVD.
