Advice pre-purchase please

Hello....... My son's old 360 is coming up with a open tray error so me and the missus have decided to buy him the slim for xmas..... we have never flashed his old one and are not going to with the new one, my question is which of the new ones to buy? Should I buy the 250gb or buy the 4gb and purchase a hdd to put into it?
Any help would be very much appreciated......( also can his old one be repaired easily?)

The old one can be repaired and flashed to play copies quite easily.
as for the slim, i would get the 250gb version, or you can just get the 4gb version and add the hdd yourself, could work out cheaper.

Thanks for the info cunny..... was thinking for 140 quid he can have a new xbox with 12 months warranty...... he only plays about 4 games a year and his life is on live with his mates hence the reason we haven't flashed his 360.

Does it have to be a certain hdd or any 2.5"

Check out ebay m8 they approx 40-50 with the enclosure.
