    serial data bad

hi all, tried flashing a friends xbox earlier using junglflasher and it kept coming up with "**WARNING**serial data bad" when probing 707 and pressing dvdkey, it even did when i just pressed the dvdkey and didnt probe. i am using a probe II and ck3 pro connectivity kit. is there a way to test my ck3 kit?

    thanks

Are you using a serial or usb lead?

You will always get a better connection with the serial lead, rather than a usb lead. I even tried dumping a drive without either, and couldnt work out why I got the error.

Can be a few reasons for the error tbh. Can usually be from serial - usb convertors. Trying to probe ix firmware. Wrong ports selected in jf ect. Also you say your using probe v2, is the switch in correct position for 73 series drive?

It's a liteon 74850. I'm using the serial connection and tried coms1 & 2. It has the firmware before lt, can't remember what its is 1.6? True it before with a probe 1 and got the same and as the green led stayed on I thought the probe was knackered, that's why I ordered a probe 2. Now I'm thinking it may be my ck3 or serial cable. Thanks for replies by the way

You dont need to probe the R707 if its been flashed before. IX 1.61 and below

            Power on drive
            Eject
            Turn off
            Push tray half way in
            Open jf
            goto DVD key
Use dummy from ixtreme to obtain dummy.bin

The reason you cant get key from R707 is because C4e never included it in the original 73 ixtreme, it was based on 93 series drives that dont support this.
