    replaceing drives

I have a xbox with a ~~~~ed hitachi 0047dh drive. I have a spare hitachi 0078fk drive. Is it just a straight forward case of taking the key from the old 1 and putting it into the new 1 or do they need spoofed in which case i could be looking at a ban.

In what sense is itr ~~~~ed?

Just swap the laser over. Much easier. Then no need to spoof.

Its ~~~~ed because i done a stupid thing. This was a rrod box. After spending a few hours trying to clamp it i got a little bit pissed of with it and thumped the drive (i know very very stupid) Now the drive spins for a second makes a rough sound and stops.

Might be worth opening up and checking the wheel on the top plate. You have probably just bent the metal case a little causing it to force the disc down on the tray. Try that first.

PS learn to be a bit more patient when doing these machines

Also check that the magnet on the top case is still glued in place. I've had a few machines in that rattled the shit out of the disks. Just needed the magnet gluing in again.

It's a common problem with machines that have been hit to open the DVD drive.
