Add Hard drive

Hi i got a new Xbox 4gb, and i have a Hard drive (WD 2500 Bevt), can i add the Hard Drive without do nothing or i need reformat the hard drive???

Thank you but i do not have a old xbox hard drive, i do not wont to be band from xbox live, the original HD are very over priced..

get a xbox 360 slim hard drive case from somewhere like www.dealextreme.com or if you cant wait for delivery from china try ebay then follow the guide it also covers slim version.

no you will not be banned, because you put the security sector on that is recognised by microsoft as a genuine drive.

if you follow the link to the tutorial as in post 2 ,scroll down just below the bootable usb creator tool picture and there is a link to get the 250gb hard drive security sector you need.

I just need to rename the file and copy/paste on the HD, and its ready to go???

you should use the hddhackr program because it rewrited the firmware of the hd/drive to match an original and puts files where they should be, you will need to do this with a sata connection in your pc,when done you can test it in your xbox without a case on the hard drive but it is more secure if you get one.
