    Lite-on drive help please

    Hi can someone help please

    I need to flash a lite-on DG-16D2S with FW 74850C and I'm a little confused.

I have a connectivity pro kit and believe I'm going to need a probe kit to go with it, I see that there is now a probe V2 available, is this ok for what I need?

Also what is the LT 1.5 switch for? do i need this aswell or not?

I have also read I can do this without the probe by soldering the r707 - the picture of where to solder wasnt a little clear as said need to solder a wire but didnt show a wire soldered on the board.

    Regards

Yes to get the key from a 7 series drive you need to probe the R707 on the PCB.

Probe V1 Is what you will need however the V2 probe will do the function of a Probe V1 but also get the firmware from a liteon drive through the MRA Hack

The switch/clip is also for the MRA hack

The v2 probe can do same as a V1. The MRA Hack includes cutting traces and resoldering

having a little problem here, can anyone help please

I have received the probe V2, opened the drive half way, fired up JF, the drive is showing in JF, I stick the probe on the correct point on the drive and green light comes on the probe, I click on the DVDkey32 tab and I get a message saying "warning - bad serial data"

I have all the necessary cables plugged in from the ck3 pro to the dvd drive I also have the sata cable plugged in from my pc. Do I HAVE to have a serial cable aswell from the pc to ck3 pro?

Problem is if I do I dont have a serial cable or serial port on the back of my pc.

            Regards

                Hi

Ummmm no. Does it need usb driver? as it isnt connected via usb?

I was following your sticky on how to do it and it shows a serial cable also connected to the ck3 aswell as all the other cables

                Regards

right so when you say usb do you mean usb one end of the cable and serial connector the other end? otherwise I cant see where a usb cable would go into the ck3?

                    Regards

ah i see so thats instead of a serial cable?, right i think i have one of the around here somewhere, any idea where i can get the driver that you mention from?

Also is there anything i should be doing with the probe v2, i.e the 18-20-22 switch and the push switch thing on the end that lights up an orange light that says standby

                          Regards
