liteon 74850c MRA hack problems pls help

hi

i have a 74850c drive here
it has ix LT 1.1 on it
doing the drive half open trick would not do squat for this drive to get dummy from ix.

so i believe i have to do the MRA hack as this is what i had to do with a previous drive same model.

ok that other one went just fine.

this one is givign me all 777777777777777777 as the dvd key.
no way am i writing the data back like that heheh

ok so upon removing my 1.5 switch i clean solder points up and am noticing im getting a short across a couple of points, on a fresh board from the same drive this short is not presant.

can any1 help me here as the drive clearly aint dumping the key right so i cant proceed further.
the 2 arrows in the pic are the points that are shorting.
and as you can see there is clearly no solder bridging across the 2 tracks

orite mate iff the key is reading all 7ns all that means is who ever flashed the drive with lt forgot to spoof it get the orig key make a new copy get drive back in to vendor mode and remeber to spoof iff you don't have the origanal key then you have a dvd player there

plus its the 748 mjodel no mra needed just probe in the 3rd hole top corner iff u need help look up cunnys guide or pm me and ill send you info

the drive is not spoofed
its the orig drive from this machine

im sure i flashed it a while ago

the probe trick does not work all the time with ixteme lt 1.1
you have to do the MRA hack to dump out the firmware again. this is a big pain but cant have our cakes n eat it.

Sadly mate if its been flashed above ix1.6 then you cannot dummy from extreme and require the MRA hack. Clearly states this in the JF tutorial too

Hang on so you tried doing a mra because you didn't have the original FW of the drive if so then yes mra is the only method.

You say your not getting the right key what method are you actually doing in JF?

You say you are getting shorts on your board you do realise you have to repair those trace cuts for the drive to even work?

i did the way it tells you in the JF tutorial.

just this one doing this.

also looking at the dump there is lots of data in ther elike its fully dumping it.

just noticed the MT chips gets rather warm when i had it plugged in just now for 10 mins.

this short across GND the the pin 102 point is deffo no good

Do you have a spare drive?

I went to address A030 where i found a key from a backed up 7 series liteon and got this key

527673BCCAC8D8A7D28EF2665C6E022F

I must stress that this could well not be your key as i would have thought JF would have pulled that thro so manually spoof another drive before erasing anything to preserve the KEY

Must also add, I found a site that will lift the chip off the PCB and read the FW from it that way, you will of course need another drive.

Just done a quick spoof myself and dont think it will work, just going thro the spoof now to see what line the key is at in 1.1

mad iv never once had to do the mra trick on a 74850 i always just probed and reprobed
