You need to replace the drive, its that simple. A samsung cannot perform ap2.5 checks, therefore will not pass the checks, and will not boot the games. You need to replace it with a liteon, this will then allow you to play all ap2.5 games. You will require LT+1.1.

I actually just bought an old 06' xbox with a flashed Samsung drive in it and some backups 2 weeks ago. The guy told me I could then download whatever I liked and it would play, newer games and all.

I'm not really up on this, but have been reading and watching youtube tuts the last week or so. But I was under the impression you couldn't change drives from one 360 to another(because they were synced together or something) - so drives can be interchanged then?

But what the hell is a spoofed drive and why does it have to BE spoofed in the first place... and even better why does the drive need replaced?....ap2.5??..what is it?

I'm guessing it's firmware related and new games need to by pass this.... would an old non flashed samsung not pass this check(I'm guessing it would have too, to be fair on older xbox users).. but then there would be a simple work around for the drive 'would there not?.... that's why I'm confused after reading this

I won't be using live just playing burnt games.. the guy I bought it off seemed to know what he was talking about,, why'd he say download and play whatever I want because the Samsung drive is the best.. is he a noob that doesn't know what he's talking about?

See mine is already flashed so I'm just trying to understand a bit more about how it works and not have to sit for hrs a day learning from scratch. You wrote a good guide mate does help alot, but it's like every other guide I read. It's more an intermediate guide, whereas I need a proper noobs guide to what all the terms mean and why this and that works and that doesn't

I just can't get my head round the simple parts, keys?? LT?? different drives copy protection?? firmware counter measures??...the more I read the more confusing it gets.... old guides are contradicted by newer guides but the older guides have more noob info but are pointless to follow..

Suppose I'll just have to take the long way round... as long as I can play Dead Rising 2 and a few other older ones then I'm happy.. thats's all I really bought it for.. but why did the noob I bought it off tell me I was safe to play the newer stuff too, when it sounds like I can't
