Break apart and rebuild xbox 360 controller

Starting work shortly on a personal project (will probably post progress reports as I go through) and one of the main elements of it will be breaking down a 360 controller and attaching different buttons (arcade style) and joy sticks etc.

I've found some info online doing this for the original xbox but nothing for the 360, I was wondering if anyone has any experience they'd like to share, or can lay their hands on a detailed technical diagram of the circuit boards they can point me too?

I've Frankensteined a few controllers now, swapped oveer sticks and the like, you'll need a security torx to get into the bastard (torx with a hole cut in the middle to get around the pin)

Ive no real experience with arcade sticks but i imagine its just a matter of building a housing, attaching sticks and buttons then running cabling from those to the contacts on the actual pad pcb's.

Shouldn't be too technically difficult to be honest.

One of the key things I'm looking to do is use dual joysticks with top thumb buttons for the LB and RB and index finger triggers for LT and RT, I'm assuming the wiring is fairly simple, or does the analogue connection of the standard xbox LT and RT make it trickier do you reckon?

It would make it far trickier, you would need to hook up some sort of interface like a DAC to convert the digital to analogue.
Unless you can source analogue sticks.

Getting 4way digitals is a piece of piss, 8way digitals is easy too, chasing down analogue parts seems to be a total nightmare. i expect you would need to rebuild one from scrach by re-purposing a 4 way digital with button top and fit an analogue module into the base of the shaft, you would need to heavily uprate the springs though.
