I made a guide on this, really easy to do as it fires inquiry to the port until it responds.

yep a flashed samsung

Just wondering, the sata card has got 4 jumpers on it side by side each with 3 pins numbered 1 2 and 3 and they are all on 2 and 3, i tried them all on 1 and 2 and it caused problems by slowing everyhting down

I not seen via card with jumpers. Anyway when i was doing a device intro, the status on the ports should change (checked all ports) for some reason, its not.

I will take the drive by post and if i can recover it i will tell you exactly how i did it. I have not seen a liteon brick from a bad flash. Only 1s i have seen are from bad MRA and Power lead been plugged in the wrong way round.

Hopefully it will tie in with my x360 arriving

Tried a samsung drive and the via card recognised it straight away so I really do think i've bricked the liteon, i think i will just throw it in the bin and get another as I was going to have to replace the laser anyway.

Can I spoof a liteon key to a samsung drive?

Yes you can no problem. And dont throw the liteon away.
To say you have bricked it means it will recover.

Built a Liteon_CFW.bin in JF.

Simply make bootable usb. Stick dos on it and l-o-erase.exe Stick the Liteon_CFW.bin on USB as well.

Stick the liteon into sata on board.

Boot into dos via usb.

Power up liteon drive.

Dos Commands:

doslfash.exe
see what port your drive is on.
Click no to intro device etc

Now l-o-erase.exe (number of port drive is on)

repeat the process until you get FF72 status.

Now type doslfash again. Number of device/drive.
Write. (If you get unknown chip) type dosflash again..number device/drive then write again.

It will then ask to type in firmware to flash.

Type the name of FW that you created in JF. Which should be Liteon_CFW.bin.

It will now erase then flash firm to drive.

Power drive down and back on and eject. Job done.

I have tried dosflash, the drive does not show at all, the port is there but not seeing anything attached to it

I believe I am truely special to brick a liteon this was definately not done by power connector upside down

I can plug any other drive in and its recognised, just not the liteon. It was seen by JF when i stuck a samsung key onto it to check if it was a drive prob i had then putting it back to LT+ pc froze and not been able to recover it since.

You cannot spoof lt+ to another drive. And samsungs don't do ap2.5 so some games won't work. And it will likely lead to a ban!

Wasnt actually asking if LT+ can be spoofed to samsung, just wondered if liteon key can be put on samsung drive

I have a very early box with hitachi drive and no hdmi which has lt+ and using online with composite cable

I have another early box the same which had the samsung drive in it with 1.0LT

I have another early box with hdmi connection which had the liteon in it but now has the sammy drive.

The box with HDMI is there anything different from the pre-hdmi box apart from hdmi slot?

Thinking do I now put the hitachi with LT+ into the box with hdmi or would the only benefit be the fact that it has hdmi slot and wouldnt really make a difference as the non-hdmi box with composite cables looks just as good as hdmi?
