Have you cleaned the registry? If you haven't already install ccleaner (free from filehippo). Run the registry cleaner to remove old registry keys. If you have passwords etc backed up run the cleaner also, (go to settings and untick 24 hr option).
Check the uninstall programme inside ccleaner to see if firefox is listed, if so run the uninstaller and repeat both cleans.
Install fresh version of FF.
Sounds like the application has a broken link which is being "remembered", wouldnt hurt to reboot before fresh install of FF.

Have you tried Chrome, aside from addons its much sleeker.

i have finally got firefox working,gave the lappy to my mate,bit of a genius with confusers
within 5 minutes he had it working,when i asked him what was wrong with it he said he didnt know,he dl a copy of firefox on another lappy put it on usb stick and then loaded it onto my lappy as he couldnt dl a copy directly onto my lappy
wasnt sure why that was,

i got 4 now and its all good,,bit of getting used to,couldnt find the ~~~~in home button for a while,apart from that i like it

I use both Chrome & Firefox 4. Chrome crashes less as well as memory need. Firefox 4 is great for downloading & adds-on (FLV, etc.).

On the subject of browsers, I recently updated Chrome and while my P04-05-11_17.39.jpg

P04-05-11_17.41.jpgtoolbar was dotted with fav. news, weather and blog sites the newer version, by clicking on the spanner top right corner, gives an easier way with your bookmarks by putting them into assigned files,eg news sport etc. Once you have them in folders they appear on the toolbar and any bookmarked sites you select afterwards automatically go into the proper folder- sport into sport folder etc. Saves the bother of scrolling through a long list of bookmarks. Sorry that the pics. are shyte but just to add that if you log into google you can pick one of several nice scenes to do away with the bland white google page.
