which is the better of these 2 monitors?

Hi lads, im in the market for a new PC monitor and have narrowed it down to these 2:

LG buy at the cheapest price, best deals, online shop - Ireland

Samsung SyncMaster BX2231 - LCD display - TFT - : LS22X3HKFE/EN - Komplett

The LG has one has 5ms response and 5000000:1 contrast and
The samsung has 2ms response time and 1000:1

The samsung also 18w power and the LD uses 23w power, both have LED backlit displays

Which would you choose and why?

I really cant decide

I've had a quick look and can't seem to find if either of them is an 8bit display.

As i do a fair bit of photography I would want the one that was 8bit rather than 6bit.

However I seem to remember that 8bit has slower response times so not so good for games.

I suppose it depends what you do on your PC

Had a Samsung Syncmaster last year and replaced it with the LG monitor. Got to say LG is nice clear picture but I would still go with the Samsung. I did not notice any difference in the speed of the monitors but i did like the LCD better than the LED.

I've had both monitors mate and loved the LG but sold it and got the SyncMaster which i feel has a slightly better picture, looks nicer and is easier to use. They are both good quality though.

My only advice is to get the biggest one you can.
