I am using a dell mini 10 on xp. Ive pressed ctrl and f1 on startup but there is no recovery partition.
I downloaded windows xp and formatted my 16gb sandisk cruzer usb drive to fat32 then used unetbootin to make bootable drive. First time is said ntdlr missing so used a different copy of windows.
Now it boots to a unetbootin screen saying it will automatic boot in 10 seconds but its a continuos loop, will not load windows setup.
I know I could simply buy a usb dvd rom but it would be good to learn to do this properly.
Cant see what Im doing wrong, I followed this guide to a tee twice using a different iso windows xp image on each occasion....
This link also suggested there was a restore partition but its not working, I checked my partitions in disk management, I have a 149gb ntfs partition and a 39mb fat32 partition. I dont think 39mb is enough for a windows xp restore facility.....anyway ctrl f11 does nothing at bootup...
