problems with acer nebooka AOA150

worked fine yesterday, today as i turned on, the power light comes on, and nothing loads, just blank screen, there is a smaill whinning noise, as if its trying to, boot but nothingt happens
just blank screen, any help guys thank you,

What is the operating system......Is it Vista by any chance and can you get into the bios to change the boot order

Boot with linux usb key (hirens etc) to test for HD failure, update bios if posting, check vents for blockage, check memory seated properly.
