    not sure if im in the right spot but here goes,
    i have an HP PHOTOSMART D5160 i want to blue tooth to my laptop which also has no bluetooth can i buy something which will connect the two thanks.

    The dongle used on the laptop shouldn't matter, as long as you can get drivers for your OS.

    HP recommend either the BT450 or BT500 dongle for your printer. The BT450 is also the recommended dongle for my HP Photosmart 475, yet I've successfully printed using class 1 and class 2 bluetooth dongles from Belkin before today...

      I'm running an old xp and bought a bluetooth usb stick for 4 euro and the bluetooth installer has installed bluetooth on me desktop. Easy way to transfer photos etc. So your lappy would be far more recent and should support bluetooth.

        i need a new printer and want it to work over a wi fi connection
        would be good if i could also scan with it
