compatable inks

Hello how long is the shelf life on compatable cartridges because I loaded a set in my R200 printer and they didnt work the red light is on all the time on the printer,I have had these cartridges for a while now unopend could that be my problem hope you can help cheers take care

Hi Mate. If they're kept in the vacuum sealed bag they come in, they should keep as long as orig. mfr. inks.

If your printer is still printing with the red light on, it sounds more likely to me that the printer does not recognise the onboard-chip on the ink cartridge. Best bet is to contact the place you bought them from.

Hi thanks for your reply the printer is not printing with these cartridges in whe I go to properties in the printer there is a red cross on each colour cartridge and will not print , I bought six packs first off and the first five worked fine its just this one pack I was just wondreing are they to old and dried up ,they should work thanks again cheers take care

I would try cleaning the chip contacts on both the inks and the printer, common problem on Epson where cartridges aren't recognized, especailly on the new range of units.

Just to add, it will be only one cartridge that's stopping it from working.
Try changing one cartridge to the old one you removed, if it still doesn't work put the new one back in & change the next one. Continue until you find the dodgy cartridge.
