    Windows Movie Maker.

    I hear you laughing already.
Anyhow, through sheer determination, patience and doggedness I managed to make an acceptable music vid. through WMM even though it froze more times than the arctic circle. This app. is so bad on xp that Cnet won't recommend it even though it is Microsofts own baby.
I am very happy with the results of my second vid. but it refuses to leave to my computer. The first vid. when saving it stopped at 29% transfer but it was continuing in the background to transfer itself and eventually saved to my computer. The second one wont budge and I've tried atube catcher video stream but to no avail.Should I go for a long walk and forget it or is there any other way of getting it to save?
I've clicked on file and saved it that way but that only saves the entire page.

what version are you using. I have been using live movie maker in windows 7 (you download it as part of windows live) and not had many issues with it.

      Hi

When I use windows movie maker on my pc ( with XP ) all I do is click on ' save to my computor ' in option 3 at the side. Works everytime , the version on mine is version 5.1 (build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.101209-1647 : service pack 3 )

      Although I havn't tried with anything over about 15 - 20 mins.

Sorry that I didn't mention xp but cnet (where I went to see if there was a newer version) would not recommend it because of its constant freezing. There's a version for 7 and vista but not compatible with xp.I have found another one called debugmode wax which looks interesting if not a bit complicated.

My version is on xp and while saving to my computer it freezes. My vid. is a 4 minute music vid. and as stated I eventually got my first vid. to my computer but this one needs a caesarian to born it.

Sorry, just saw that. The Win7 version is greatly improved but that does not help you. Sorry.

Today I found info. on WMM on xp.
              Right click my computer
              Click on properties
Click on advanced on the menu
              In performance click on settings
In performance options click on advanced
In processor scheduling click on background services
click apply and then click ok.
WMM worked 100% afterwards with no freezing.
              Hope it helps someone.
