shirnking an iso

hi all i have downloaded an update for ma incar sat nav its file size is 5.12gb is there anyway of shrinking it to fit it onto a standard dvd?

basic answer is no. unless you can unpack it, remove files (maybe some European maps) and repack it in the correct format.

Is it in some special format to stop it being copied ?

Else use a dual layer DVD.

Bit useless I'm afraid as OP is trying to shrink a satnav DVD, not a movie DVD

could try winrar but i think it will only make it only a little smaller not much tho.

Did a quick search on google and a couple of different boards for different makes all say you need to use a dual layer. What make is your car ?

Burn it to a dual layer dvd, they hold 8.5 gig, they are not that much more money

the file is in winrar and it sits at 2.5gb but its useless cause the say isnt going to read a winrar file is it!

If its the same system as used on the civic then you will definately need a dual layer DVD

That correct, you need to expand the file before burning it to DVD.
