Beware that if you have more then one device in the house then you will need to install it on each one and then add up the results. Not sure if it filters between internal and external traffic.

If you are not download much then streaming is going to be your biggest usages. E.g. 1 hour of HD from youtube or iPlayer = 1GB.

Its not for me its for my mum, she is getting it of BT 10gb usage per month and she doesnt do anything apart from browse the web, bt told her it would be between 7-10 hours a day, is that right?? if she is connected to the internet and just leaves it connected does that eat away your usage, ie just left it on a couple of hours while she goes shopping!! Thanks again

Depends on the user, personally, I would go over 10gb in a week, let alone a month. But if your mom is like mine, 10 gigs will last her a year. Heavy streaming and downloading is what uses most bandwidth. 10gb is tons of regular browsing/email/facebook.

Keeping it on for a few hours won't be a problem. There is some low bandwidth background stuff usually gone on but nothing to be worried about. Don't forget about microsoft updates will come download automatically though shouldn't be more then a couple of hundred MB a month at worst.

I'm on the plusnet ?6.49 a month for 10 gb on my work pc, never download music of movies it's on 24/7 used just for browsing, email, ebay, forums and occasional youtube stuff and I never go above 5 gigs a month (often only 2gb) - plusnet have a useage checker on their site so you can keep tabs on it
