    bought a acer netbook for the lad ,and im trying to put a free anti virus on ,avg free ,wont let me do it ,is there a different version or a alternate anti virus ,

    Avast or microsoft essentials with malwarebytes is a better combination anyway, they don't use as much resources as avg
    TRY DROPBOX 2GB + 500mb FREE ONLINE STORAGE with public sharing and 500mb for me

        yes using avast also,you do know if there is an anti virus program on it it needs to be removed before you put the new one on .might need to check what system its for xp vista or windows7.

          it's window 7 starter ,,cant get on it though ,it's updating 1 of 53 ,been doing it for over an hour

                  That windows 7 starter is a sack of shite its only allowed so many programs running at once if its for your lad keep it simple and use ubuntu netbook edition you wont need to arse about for a antivirus either
