Would you buy off some bloke in a pub just cuz everyone in there said he was ok?
go to the shop or test your faith
can see your point although feedback is there for a reason and the seller has sold 400+ items and has 99.8% perfect feedback. so dont think you can compare it to the guy in the pub haven said that the 0.02% that has purchaed from this seller may disagree.
I have an e-bay account for 10 years with a 100% feedback. All is safe on there, but to spend that kind of money buy it on the counter as ?100 cheaper is not worth it if something goes wrong you will have to go to the rigma of getting in touch with the seller postage cost to return it. With off the counter you have a one to one and things can be sorted.
If you get hit for import duty then you will be more than ?100 down. I have only had to ask PayPal to sort things out twice and both times it took over a month to get things resolved.
Buy it from the shop with a credit card and that way you get to see it first and maybe haggle.
Over the counter every time if you want any sort of warranty. He could be a very good seller but electronics have a mind of their own and could break down within weeks. Better to have a UK name you can return the item to.
