if your laptop has hdmi socket, just connect from laptop to pc with hdmi lead, open movie with any movie player and on tv select the right input device, and movies should play from laptop to tv

has your tv got a vga connection ? if so you can get a male/female video lead and will do the same trick

i remember years ago i did this with the round ( video socket ) connection on pc to tv

        that was prehistoric times,

          thanks again
unfortunatly no vga on tv i have s-video scart, hdmi and usb

maybe vga to scart would work but need separate lead for the sound i think (not sure)
must be an easy way but dont want to buy leads untill i am i bit more positive it would work

Hi, Youcould use a S video lead this wil give you the video, you would then need to have a lead for the sound eg from the headset socket to the tv.
I think you will only get std def with the setup you have.

I would save your money and not bother trying to connect to this TV, you could end up buying cables that dont work, or if they do you'll probably be very dissapointed with the picture quality looking so naff on such a big screen..

You say you have no VGA on the TV, no HDMI on your Laptop.. I guarantee you, any solution you eventually find for getting video to your screen it will look ruddy awful..

The only solution that might work, but at an expense that might not be worth it is USB TO HDMI Adaptor, reviews of these seem poor, and need very fast CPU apparently...
