I intend changing my internet provider (maybe back to sky) if i let the engineer install my network with say one of that sky provide, then spend about ?130. on a replacement router will i notice any real difference when ei downloading for example? also do any of you guys think talk talk has become anymore reliable since the got fined for poor alround service? It might seem a silly question but why would you need to change the Sky Router ?

I have never met a single person who have had any good feedback about Talk Talk so my personel feelings are to steer well clear of them.

Thats what i'm asking, would my network be improved noticeably as opposed to sky's equipment. Otherwise why are (shop bought)they priced so differently?

If all you do is browse, download, and play online games, then an ISP supplied router will be adequate, a shop bought more expensive one will not really yield you any better performance... But if you were wanting to VPN, video streaming over wan, running a server, and other technical networky nerdy shenannigans then you might find the ISP supplied router might not allow for all these advanced networking scenarios and then you would need to look at buying a more expensive router to get this functionality...

Thanks for your post, yea mostly i am interested in streaming,its a bit hit and miss at times. Also whenever i use my laptop in a separate room when viewing the likes of BBCIPLAYER i get a lot of buffering even though i'm the only user,how do i over come that hiccup, i'm wireless connected by the way.
