No I dont think you can, I believe it uses the ip address to confirm you are a Virgin customer before you can use it.

I am a virgin customer, but I still pay for Giganews just because of the VPN that gets thrown in for nought. Dont trust Virgin as far as I could throw them what with DPI and all. Even if you are SSL they know you use newsgroups and large files downloaded are not for discussion purposes!!

To get around it use Simply Usenet - The UK's Premium Usenet Provider

and take the lowset package and get free ssl as well

Virgin do not monitor out of peak times. The only time they get hacked off is if you download over 10 gb three days in a row

Can I ask how you know this for sure?

Either way, my internet habits are my own and not my isps. I would rather pay a company that has a vested interests in my privacy, than an isp that will sell on my info for gain.
