    EX WORK PC

    The place where the mrs works have got rid of a load of old pcs.
    she's been given one, and they havent removed windows 2000 from it.
    ther is no bios password, but my xp disc wont boot up. also my disc formatting tools wont boot either.
    anything i can do?

      You could try putting an old win 98 cd in and trying to get to a dos prompt and fdisk and reformat it like that

          thanks m8 but ive sorted it now. for some reaon it would only read disc if i entered 2000 and then restarted. weird.

                  on a lighter note, ive downloaded and am installing windows microxp 0.82
                  Windows MicroXP 0.82 eXPerience [Operating Sistem - 1CD - ENG] [www.tntvillage.scambioetico.org] : Software > Windows - Other - Mininova
                  it installed on the above machine in under 10 mins!
                  its only 99.9mb in size.

                          yeah. its just xp with nothing! just an os, only english language pack only basic drivers. no pre installed apps. nothing. you can then add any xp compatable s/ware. its basically. your system, your way!
