Youtube keeps freezing my computer?

I'm honestly tired of this, and I've tried just about everything I know to fix it. For some reason, most of the time (not always) when I open up a Youtube video to watch, my computer freezes up! The same for Netflix sometimes, but not nearly as often. I don't get blue-screen errors, and my computer doesn't crash, it just freezes, and will stay frozen for half an hour or more until I hold down the power button to force-reset my computer. It seems I'm force-resetting it more than I am just shutting it down normally these days because Youtube and other things using the same platform keep freezing my computer!

Please, how can I fix this? I'm afraid if I have to keep force-resetting my computer, it's going to do some permanent damage. And if it helps, I do regular De-fragmentations using the "Clean My PC" program and regular virus checks with Anti-Malware bytes, and I never pick up viruses.

A common cause of pc's freezing, is a failing PSU, I'd be surprised if it was a software problem.

you will have to try to isloate the issue to fix it
there are a number of reasons that can make a pc crash
like that so its youll have to find whether its software or hardware based

i would check software first

(check these first)

are there any applications hanging to make the comp crash?
if so unistall them and reinstall
do you have the latest browsers?
update or use latest driver for your graphic card driver if possible

if all application are fine then and running

then

is it just on crashing on youtube or that it crashes
on firefox? - try a different browser
trying a browser with no connection to firefox like opera or safari

if it is then on firefox disable all addons and
extensions to check.
if you need to reset firefox

also remove your current flash and install an older version to test if

right click on the unistaller and run as administrator and then select yes and let
it remove flash completely

also could be a corrupt registry

registries can be become corrupt for numbers of reason multiple cases install/unistalls
they become invalid links and build up they eventually make the system unstable in some cases

note on registry software only use software that you know is realible due to the
senstivity of scanning of the softwares can remove the wrong registry file sometimes.

if its hardware
your gonna have to check your parts

graphic cards

and again
check to see if your drivers are ok or outofdate

its usually rare for graphic card to have a hardware issue
so i would not really think it was that unless overheating
or overclocking is involved.

overheating - is the airflow in case ok?

have you got more than 1 ram stick if have check them one at a time

hard drive
theres only so much you can do with hard drives
if its a physical issue
however for its the partitions

It very likely to be an incompatible codec which is giving the problems. Uninstall all your codecs and start again with only what you need to give you the functionality that you need.
