hi guys i wanted to download stuff from utorrent but my speeds were so slow a friend told me i had to have a port open to increase speeds but i dont know how to open a port on my computer any help would be greatly appreciated

click on your model router, and you will find step by step instructions on how to open a port. Also check that your pc's firewall is not blocking the application. If you do have a different firewall other that using windows firewal (ie sygate or zone alarm etc ) you may find that the latest update from microsoft may of turned you windows firewall back on. Check that setting as well, 2 firewalls can cause problems, although i have not experienced that problem myself....The whole process does not take that long. P.S make sure that the torrents you are downloading are well seeded, trying to download a "dead" torrent is pointless, try downloading a torrent from mininova, and search for a aXXo file, there's are always well seeded and you will get a good test of your system...P.P.S peerguardian 2 will also offer some protection whilst downloading
