The sims 3 problem... pls help...?

I don't know what's wrong with my computer because i thought it passed the requirements of the sims 3 but when im playing it is a bit slow and the animation loading is delayed... this is what my computer has...

    I'm using WinXP
    Pentium 4 CPU 3.20GHz 3.19 GHz,
    1.00GB of RAM
256 AGP slot Nvidia geforce fx 5600
and i don't know what is that pixel shader?

    can you help me???

Assuming Wikipedia is correct the 5000 series had the required pixel shader version 2.a, but wasn't very good at it.

The RAM is the minimum recommended for the game too.

I'd be looking at throwing in another gig of RAM* (this is regarded as the sweet spot for XP anyway), and trying to source a more up-to-date AGP graphics card such as the 4650 from Sapphire or 4670 from HIS.

*Be careful buying RAM. Most later P4 CPUs were fitted to LGA775 and used DDR2, but the earlier ones used Sockets 423 and 478 so may need DDR.
