They have changed the drop down speed time frame to 5hrs since I last looked. I think they sometimes drop your speed even if you don't go over your amounts then say you have gone over it to make sure you know your usage if your speed keeps dropping they are sneaky.

I went to sky once, had it installed, three days later told them to take it back out and stayed with virgin, your broadband will be worst, guarenteed as it's through ADSL (phone line) where at the moment your cable which is loads faster. These ADSL companies quote UPTO 16meg but realistically you'll get approx 4meg. Also Sky's HD is only 720 where Virgin is full 1080.

Believe me you WILL regret it.

Goto Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test a recognised BB speed test site and run the test a few times to different servers to get a rough average, I pay for 30meg and I always get around the 30meg give or take a meg. This is what I believe you should be getting as virgin dont do 20meg any more as they gave a free upgrade to 30meg.

You need to get to the root cause of the problem, we're not all getting the problem so it's not a wide scale problem but more localized to you. Just get onto Virgin and tell them they need to sort it and get an engineer onto it. They will sort it.

I'm gonna go with that advice, my son inlaw said pretty much the same thing. Virgin engineer was out to - day he installed a new router and said i'd be a lot happier with its performance, which i am. This contract is up on 7th June At that point we plan to do away with the tv package and usin the freesat humax box which i recommend, not to mention we have skyplayer on the xbox that gives me all sports and movie channel , living , atlantic some factual channels and kids channels. No point being greedy. I was going to disconnect them , but they was looking ?180. 2 more payments and it was done anyway.How do i get them to turn off tv and keep broadband is a bit of a problem. Their broadband is about ?33. thats a lot of money. Can't remember how to stream from laptop to xbox . Any suggestions?
