As the title says, with the attack on p2p from the u.s and the spineless bunch of ~~~~s that run this country (into the ground) likely to play follow the leader is this the way forward. I already use newsgroups with vermin but am considering going usenet premium for older stuff (not to keen on torrents) is there any whispers of a similar attack on them and what is the best to use as there seems to be a big variation in price all claiming 99.9% completion on binary. Any input is welcome. I am considering newsdemon at ?6 odd a month for unlimited ssl with 50 connections

Well the US f**kwits could always start issuing control messages to delete newgroups, not that every admin has to take notice of them, but it wouldn't stop them constantly trying. I suppose if they 'told' every US newsadmin, which generally get used to feed a lot of ISP servers, to send delete control messages they could in theory delete newgroups.
In saying that I've not noticed any attempts to delete newsgroups work, since it only takes a few admins to ignore them and they reappear once someone posts in them again and they get propagated to any news server that accepts teh feed.My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far
Despite the cost of living, it's still very popular.

There have been serveral attempts to shut NZB sites down over the years. Just as torrents, another appear.
As gaston says about the feeds, the way newsgroups runs is far better and secure than torrents. If they tried to delete all the headers from a certain article, someone else will just upload it. Thing is, its another game of cat an mouse now. A nzb site will appear for few years. Take down request an threatening court action if now. Another appears. I know of a few that this has happened to over the years. Even if they shut down the nzb sites, you can just download headers.
I have been using these since before nzbs were about and never looked back. We have ssl encryption + download from servers and not each other.sigpic

Cheers lads looks like premium is the way forward then. Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for or is the one from newsdemon about the right price I should be payingComment

which is exactly what will make nzbs an easy target... as mega upload proved.
torrents are a lot harder to shut down as they are on peoples own pcs, and i cant see the mpaa and the fbi hacking into every pc on the planet to check if theyve got a few films on thereFave replies from various threads
1: What the fff is all that about??? All that crap below your reply I mean, get a life mate
2: no info on google abt the pace sv5 rang asda they have no idea what i was talking about,
3: Your total contribution to this forum, bordering on trolling, seems to have been a collection of snipes, one liners & asterisked expletives

No shady they target torrent sites such as pirate bay. They don't target much the servers more the nzb hosting sites.
Jordi virgin don't carry full group listings. Some of the popular groups are missing from their servers. Another reason to go premium.
At end of the day each to their own and which they prefer. I know which I do.sigpic

I would advise buying a block account rather than a monthly plan. You can buy a block of 200gig for ?13 then simply renew when it runs out. i used to subscribe to unlimited for ?6 a month but hardly ever used it so i just buy blocks now.
THE TRUTH
The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12
Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.Comment

I had considered that as well bulldog but was a bit annoyed that news demon want extra for a block account if you want ssl enabledComment
