    Hard disk partiton

    Hallo Guys
    I have a Hitachi Hard disk 320gb but it only shows 230gb. I have used Easeus partition master without any luck. There is 60gb unallocated that i cant see or use.

          ok so in disc management how big is the unallocated?
          and is there another partition on there that the system is holding? also 320Gb written on the Hdd dosent mean 320GB

          20GB = 15/18GB
          60GB = 47/55GB
          80GB = 64/74GB (10GB reserved)
          160GB = 130/149GB (19GB reserved)
          200GB = 167/186GB (19GB reserved)
          250GB = 205/232GB (27GB reserved)
          320GB = 263/298GB (35GB reserved)
          500GB = 413/465GB (52GB reserved)

          This is because the hard drive manufacturers say a gigabyte is 1000 megabytes, and 1 megabyte is 1000 kilobytes, rather than 1024 like windows reads it.

                  if u want to partition a drive do it in disk management

                  make it unallocated if it already isnt then right click within the drive and partiton it then make them active and give them drive letters

                  To partition from an active drive such as ur C: u will need to use a program/tool

                    try Hitachi Drive Fitness.

                    If no tool works on Windows, try Hitachi Drive Fitness (Downloads) works under DOS and as a last resort you can make a low-level format. Good Luck.
