    HP Laptop Hard Disk

I have a HP Pavilion Laptop which is a bit dogy.

Can I buy a new and just swap the hard disks so that I still use the old one?

    Thanks for any help

If the replacement is an identical laptop model then no problem.. If its not identical but still an HP laptop with similar chipset then you should be ok.. If the replacement laptop is a different manufacturer altogether then you will probably have to reinstall the OS..

I think the OP means change laptop but keep using his original hard disk, not put another hard disk in his old laptop..

Buy a cheap external caddy for your original hd and use it via usb to access your old files.
