    Which Printer to get?

Im looking for a new printer i have a canon mp220 which i brought a while back but it has a error code which is check ink u051. I have tried to reset the printer but no luck and it does not have the original canon cartridges in it, but i dont want to buy them eitha now i thought i would get a new printer insted.
Could anyone help me to point me in the direction of a all in one printer that will be just used for normal printing documents back or colour and a built in scanner which is also ok with taking refilled cartridges once the originals are finished?

I'm using a Canon MG5250 All in One , and its very good at doing everything I throw at it. I use compatible Inks (chipped) that I buy cheap on Amazon. The MG5250 is also wireless so no need to have it next to the PC or Laptop.

I have always used Epson, my latest one is an epson sx218 all in one printer/scanner, about ?40.

I get about 28 compatible cartridges for about ?10, and never have problems with them.

Can i suggest that a quick look around at your Supermarkets might get you one ... I was in Morrisons the other week, and a couple were looking at a half price Lexmark printer for ?20. I heard the woman say " do we really need something that will hardly get used " I mentioned to the couple that for ?20 you can throw it away after the ink has ran out and buy another printer, as the ink cartridges will probably cost about ?10 to replace ... So they ended up buying one.

You really need to look at running costs. The upfront price means nothing.

I've always found Epsons easiest to get good cheap compatibles for.

?20 for a printer... with ink suppied ... last a year until either ink runs out or cartridge heads dry out ... Throw away and buy another ... ?20 a year sound ok to me for occasional printing.

                      what printer

I have a business selling ink cartridges and for running costs you can't beat Epson or Brother printers, when you are buying ink cartridges just check the amount of ink in them some compatibles have 4ml of ink and some have 13ml of ink in them people say to me they can buy cartridges for less than i sell them for but don't realise they are only getting less than a 1/3rd of the ink,

                            Trouble with inks that cheap

1 they have very little ink in them 3 or 4 ml.
2 they have no cleaning fluid mixed in with the ink.

Try 18ml. Also, you realise that most original ink cartridges only have like 6ml of ink in them right?

Perhaps, though my Epson has done me good for a long time. I have two printers. One is an Epson SX600FW which takes T0715 ink and another is a SX435W which takes T1285/T1295 ink

For the SX600FW, you can get ink under ?6, and the SX435 you can get ink for under ?9. The ?9 ink is actually more cost efficient, because the yield is around double of what you'd get from T0715 ink.

                              T0715 ink:

Possibly cheaper, but no mention of how much ink is included:
                              12 INK CARTRIDGES FOR STYLUS SX 400 405 410 PRINTER | eBay

                              T1285/T1295 ink:
                              http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-Inks-S2...#ht_2654wt_954

The above only have inks, with the colour inks having 13ml inside, and the black ink with 15ml, making the slightly more expensive one below a better buy

This works out cheaper than the first link:
                              http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10PK-COMPA...#ht_2072wt_982

Because there is more ink inside. I tend to print a sheet of that has four blocks of colour once a month, to stop the ink from drying and clogging up. Costs like 1p/month to keep the printer functional

You can get T1285 ink with 18ml in each, but atm they're not as cost efficient as the ten pack with 17ml

This is a good buy for under ?50:
