You have probably already bought by now, but if you havent then try Laptops | Laptop. Buy cheap laptops, ultrabooks, tablet pcs, netbooks and iPads from Laptops Direct as the have a number of decent laptops for under ?300, including HP, Toshiba, Acer and Fujitsu. Happy hunting.

If your primary use is internet browsing, light tasks, and maybe some streaming, then you don’t necessarily need a high-end machine. That said, it's often worth spending a little more to future-proof your setup — better build, display, and multitasking capabilities.
If you're okay stretching your budget just a bit for better performance and long-term value, you might want to consider the Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 2 Intel Core Ultra 7 21MA002TUK 16 GB/512 GB SSD 16″ Laptop. It offers:
                • A powerful Intel Core Ultra 7 processor
                • 16GB RAM for smooth multitasking
                • 512GB SSD for fast boot and load times
                • A spacious and sharp 16-inch display

Sure, it’s above the £300 mark — but the performance, reliability, and durability of a ThinkPad really stand out, especially if you plan to keep it for years. Let me know if you’d prefer a list closer to your original budget too.
