Does the iPad app have the same quality HD stream as through safari in that youtube video?

I'm one of the lucky ones who signed up early but I only grabbed the +1 to +8 package for ?35, I still have the option to buy the HD channels for an extra ?25 but I wanna be sure to get HD Streams 1st, I haven't been given login details for the main site as its only through the app as an in app purchase.

I only signed up for the 1 - 8 as well but I got an email off al jaz saying that I'm getting the full package until my sub. is due again & then they would automatically put me onto the 19$ a month. Before you subscribe to the xtra hd channels check your emails & check with al jaz. See posts 516 & 517 of this thread.

Can anyone confirm they have used the iPad or iPhone app using only smart dns, I can't seem to get them to work. I can sign in and select a channel but it does not actually load.

i do not have this problem if I use the VPN connection. Also to note I have no problems accessing the channels through the website (on my pc) using smart dns only.

any feedback would be appreciated.

Yes I am using the smart dns on my iPad by downloading the app from the al Jazera site and the picture is great.

Hi, everyone I'm new to all this but with the help from reading the posts on this thread I've set myself up an Al Jazera Sports account using overplay. I used this site How To Guide | WatchJSC.com and the picture quality of the England Scotland game (on a 65" tv) isn't that much worse than ITV. And its great to see Andy Gray back on tv

Has anyone tried using a Android / Google TV dongle yet ? I am thinking about getting one to use whilst on Holiday to get the footy.

Well have picked up a cheap Playbook so will try on that and report back.

Interested in what you have to say about it. If it can handle the HD streams without stutter, it would be a good option for those who want to output through their TV.

I think it's the same for everyone. Some say that if you watch a YouTube video for 30 seconds and then try again, it works. That didn't work for me though.

Ipad quality is crap for me - but getting fibre optic so this might be the issue...

macs playback flash just fine - occasionally crashes the browser etc but generally iplayer etc is fine...

If you intend on watching through your TV, and your PC is up to it, definitely! It's not far off Netflix HD, which is very close to Satellite HD. I primarily wanted something that would look top quality on a 40" screen or projector, and this meets my needs.

If the iPad app works, and is as good quality as they're hinting, it will be a great companion.
