    NAS Drive help

    Hi,

I have a nas drive but on the back I have only 2 ports
    1 x sata and
    1 x usb

I am a little confused on how to connect this to my router with just these 2 ports.

I am new to NAS drives so and help would be great.

    Thanks in advance.

nas drives have an ethernet port and are connected by an ethernet cable same as a pc

they may also contain a usb port for plugging in printers or memory sticks

they dont usually come with an external sata connector (just 1 , 2 or more internal sata connectors)

so the correct method of connecting a nas drive to a router is by a straight wired ethernet cable, using ethernet ports

havent a clue what you have there, and you didnt name the make and model which doesnt help matters

it sounds like its just an external hard drive. If you connect it to a PC and the PC is turned on you should be able to find it on your network . But the PC it is connected to needs to be on all the time.
