    Laptop clean up help

I have had this advent laptop now for 3 to 4 years, and it has got slower and slower until now it's unbearable waiting to load web pages, even though I have upto 60mb.

Is there a tutorial on how to delete all program's leaving the original ones, so its like how I brought it 3 yrs ago?

I have no discs or any back ups of this laptop and I'm using vista.

    Thank

If your not botherd about losing your installed programs
    Right click on my computor
    Properties
    System protection
You can turn the laptop back to an earlier date when it did run well or
    Push start
    controll panell
    Programs
Then just delete the programs you dont need all the way back by date ,from when you got the laptop
Backup all you have first in case you want to reinstall some programs ,Hope this helps .............Paul

try downloading ccleaner if you do not have already and using that to clean the rubbish out of the system before you go for a factory reset.

The quickest way i can think of is to do this.

Download these three free programs and install..

Revo Uninstaller 1.94 Download - Freeware Files.com - Utilities Category

Wise Disk Cleaner - CNET Download.com

Wise Registry Cleaner - CNET Download.com

After installing run Revo Uninstaller and remove the programs you don't want..
Then run Wise disk cleaner which removes pretty much any crap on your pc.
Run Wise registry cleaner and also run the optimize features and registry defrag feature and reboot your pc.
After reboot i would switch off system protection or restore and reboot.
After reboot i would open Wise disk cleaner and run the disk defragmenter and set it to fully optimized.
Go and have a cup of tea whilst it sorts out your hard drive, when its finished, switch system restore back on and thats about the best you can make your pc..

Best way would be to wipe the hdd and reinstall windows using the serial that's usually printed on the sticker.

            image

double check through control panel to see if your hard drive has got a partition on there with an image file on there, it should have some where

just done one of these, this laptop did have a recovery partition, took up half the harddrive capacity. I cleaned up hard drive using cccleaner and others and repartioned harddrive, leaving 4gig for recovery image, this left a faster laptop with a bigger usable hdrive
