help making sure i have deleated all files of my computer for sale

hi how do i go about get rid of all the important information on my laptop so i can sell it .
i have put a fresh copy of windows on would that have done it

If its that important its difficult to get rid of all traces without having to physically destroy the disc.

Do a format, kill the partition and recreate it.
Then use HDDERASE (freebie utility available on the web) would be about as far as I would go mate

when u did the new install there was 2 options to format the hdd
if u selected the (quick) then some of ur old files could be recovered
if u selected the other 1 and u would know if u did coz it would take u awhile for it to complete, then that format would have wiped the drive back to like new then wrote windows on it

Ccleaner under tools, has a drive wiper facility... it will completely wipe the hard drive by securely deleting the data several times
