          same thing as opsmonkey, i just use ctrl+shift+whatever to launch my stuff off my windows machine.
          ctrl+shift+F11 = foobar
          ctrl+shift+insert = visual studio
          ctrl+shift+F9 = firefox etc

          i only really use this machine for some browsing, torrenting and compiling windows/xbox code. occasionaly i'll fire up a game.

          my slackware system doesnt have a desktop, its purely for compiling code and besides executing programs from the commandline is just as easy as navigating menus.
          i just use a minimal xfce setup for any gui work i need to do, none of it has any bells and whistles to detract me from working.

          Ive used several 3d interfaces in the past but to be honest they cut donw my productivity and take way too long to navigate.
          shortcuts = superior.
