    Help choosing a lenovo

So im looking at getting a refurbished Lenovo laptop it's a thinkpad t400 but there is 2 variants on the site.
    One is a t400 2768 and the other is a t400 6475.

I just wondered if anybody knew what the difference was between the two and if one is slightly better.

    Regards.

Go to the IBM / Lenovo website, sorry don't have the url but google will find it. You should be able to find out all you want to know there, they even have repair manuals there. Least ways that's true for the T41/42 and T60, if you were thinking of one of them I could help you. One thing to think about is that T60's with Nvidia chip sets were problematic, the Nvidia graphics chip had a production problem up to about a year be for the end of T60 production, again sorry can't give dates long time since I researched T60's.
However work out the last year of T60 production check which Nvidia chipset was being used and make sure you don't buy any IBM / Lenovo laptop with Nvidia over the affected period.

Indeed the thinkwiki is a useful over view reference and very useful if putting Linux on it. However the Lenovo site is the definitive reference it will allow you to discover exactly what options are fitted into a 2768 and 6475.

From my experience of IBM's there are vast differences of configuration of all top level model numbers, about the only thing which the top level Model number tells you is what it looks like externally. Exactly what it has inside in terms of Processor, Graphics, Screen Size and resolution WiFi etc are contained in the four figure code and in my experience it pays to research to this level particularly when buying secondhand. I mean you do want to be sure that the apple you are buying really is an apple and not the lemon with the slowest processor and crapiest screen.:-)
