Mine takes a couple of aaa's and usually lasts about 2 months.
It's in use every day and that's without switching it off (which can be done with small toggle switch underneath).

Twice in a month does seem a bit short !
There is no tomorrow..... it's simply two days after yesterday !

      Lasts longer

The new logitech mice will shut down (standby) after a short time of non use (about two mins.) to save battery life . they added this because of the complaints of very short battery life.
So yes it's normal for batterys die fast .

Were the batteries from the same packet ?? Sometimes batteries are very close to their use by date, or they could of been stored in a very cold place. If I was you I would get a battery charger / rechargeable battery set from Argos etc

The battery on my Logitech trackball has been in for the last 6 months, and my computer spends it's time on almost every day solid. The one in my Logitech keyboard has been in it since i got it late December. The one in my trackball seems to last forever
