    Partition problem

    I have an ACER laptop. I reformated when i installed Vista. Iwant to go back to the original XP with all the drivers that came with mylaptop. I can see the deleted partition with PartitionGuru v3.7.0 Professional. My problem is that I need the licence in order to restore my partition. Can someone please help me

        Some times the sticker wears out mine did i phoned microsoft support and they issued me withan activation code couple of years ago now don,t remember what info i had to give but it is all on your laptop .that i do recall the person on other end of phone talked me through it

          Just curious here.

          1. Did it not come/did you not burn any backup discs.
          2. See the partition and restore it? Was it not deleted when you installed Vista or was it an upgrade?
          3. Have you tried any key finders (google it) to obtain your serial from the registry from the xp instal?
          4. Get a blag copy of XP and there will be no need for a serial

            I did make a system backup CD and I still have it. But when i try to reinstall using this CD I get get this error..."not a D2D system", even with D2D system active in the Bios. Any suggestions? I do have a win xp cd and I did make a record of my XP product code but i want my laptop back to factory settings

              fresh install

              Why don't you just do a fresh install with a preactivated ver of XP and use a program like Driver Genuis to install all needed drivers.
