There's lots to do this, not that I use them myself, but for free apparently

DriveImage XML Backup Software - Data Recovery Product
Macrium Reflect Backup and Hard Disk Imaging for Windows 7, Vista, XP and Server 2003/2008
Shadow Copy Data Recovery Software Products - Runtime Software Products
Free Hard Disk Copy/Clone Software for PC & Server Hard Drive. Disk clone, disk backup, disk image and partition copy freeware.
    PING (Partimage Is Not Ghost)

Let's have some feedback on any that you use

    Cheers

best thing to do is get urself a usb hdd caddy or replace this drive with a new 1 then instal the old after as a locial drive along side ur primary new drive

the time has come to buy SSD (solid state Drive) as ur main C:\ expensive but u will never have this problem again

Got norton ghost with my ssd... Was a painless exercise, so I would use that in a heartbeat.

I have used EaseUS Todo Backup free version a lot of times and its never let me down i put it on family members pcs been great. if you go to download on the official site they want you to sign up for things email ect, but from the link I have put, its just a straight forward download and install, easy interface and the back up image created not a big file compared to some i have used just un tick the email on install if you don't want to subscribe

Use acronis migrate easy it is a paid for software but can be got for free.
It will clone your drive exactly as original so that you can boot from it and loose no files or drivers.
Also are you using windows 7 and it is telling you your drive is failing if so [TAKE NO NOTICE] click the box to stop it giving you this warning.
it is it is a common fault with win7
