Well on that budget you could build a nice system.

I will look about at some point this week on i5 or i7 systems for you

Nice list, but I would question the need for another PSU when the case comes with a 500W unit.
I have a Coolmaster Elite case on my PC, a bit more posh than the one you listed. But they are very nice cases. Whisper quiet.

Nova Tech do some nice barebone systems....

You just need to add HDD's, Optical drives & a video card if you so wish.

The idea of pricing 1 together though is to chop and change how you want. Does not have to go down i5 route, could go i7 or amd. I chose that CPU and its unlocked and a nice CPU

I've hadPSU that come with cases and they aint that good (IMHO) but yeah he could use that as long as the GFX card dont pull too much. He could also scrap a CPU as the new generation of CPU can do GFX aswell as long as he wont be doing much gaming.

Again open to chop an change

You will also need to add optical units be DVD/Bluray

Yes. Any other HDD's could also be used for storage. I'd be definatly keeping the SSD though

You would use the 3tb drive for storage of stuff like films music pictures. SSD's are fast and great for operating systems.

As you got 2 spares i would look at putting them in instead of the 3tb drive. As i said, the spec is open to chop and change as you see fit. You could even use your old case if needed and was in good condition
