Help with setting up a Network dvr cctv system!!

Hello, got a 4ch DVR cctv system today, installed all ok, but the software cd-rom was damaged, its a ebay H.264 DVR System

Im having problems with the remote viewing.

The dvr is connected to my Sky Router, but i cant access the cctv via my pc.

ive opened up a port in the router etc.

when typing in the i.p of the dvr in the browser just hangs, i can see the VSS browers tab and active x comes up then a cab file, but after accepting all that, nothing happens!

ive got the dvr setting on DHCP and gives a i.p of 192.168.0.9 and it pings ok from pc

but cant figure out why it wont display!

    thanks

You shouldn't need to open up any ports on your router to access it via your computer, if it's on the same network.

Some of the software is dodgy that they kick out on these dvr's. Have you tried it with Internet Explorer and Firefox? My brother set one up not so long back, probably not the same model, but I had to use IE to surf to it, then download and AxtiveX plugin to view the cameras
