If you're a gamer then you'd have to upgrade MB, graphics, processor and memory.
If not, what extra do you want from a graphics card? The only thing i can think of is getting a card with HDMI output to send to your tv and there are plenty of 1gb cards about with that capability.
I'm using a 1gb Nvidia Geforce 8400gs with dvi,vga & hdmi outputs works fine with my setup, fairly old like yours , surprisingly it does play a fair few games as well.
As i've said if you want to play games a full upgrade will be needed, have a look on fleabay there's usually a good selection on there.

The card that i'm using does have HD (hdmi) output to connect to a tv or HD monitor using a hdmi lead, unless you've got a HD monitor or tv you won't get HD.
I use mine to view HD movies i've downloaded and watch on my LG 37inch tv, brilliant pic.
As for world of warcraft i don't know what specs your pc has to be to play that game, check the games paper work for that.
Sorry i can't be more exact but you'll definately need either a HD monitor or HD tv to get the benefit.
Check ebay out for HD output graphics card, thats where i got mine.

PassMark Software - Video Card Benchmark Charts - Video Card Model List this list shows the specs of each graphics card

https://us.battle.net/support/en/art...m-requirements this is min requirements to play warcraft

be aware that most modern graphics cards need there own power source from the psu
you need to check the power of the psu and see if u have any 6 pin blocks power leads coming from it

Sapphire Radeon HD6570 2GB PCI-Express Graphics Card (11191-02-20G) - www.misco.co.uk this could do what u want and looks like it dosnt need its own power source and is as good as the recommended top spec of a 8800gt

having the 2gb on the gfx card will improve ur system very much as u can only have in your 4 slots 1GB of DDR2

when u next buy or build a computer make sure that it can handle upto 16GB of DDR3 ram
