    is my SD card knackered

    i have an 8gig SD card it worked fine up till about a week ago,i put itnto my card reader and couldnt see it anywhere on mys system ,so i tried another puter ,done the same and now its not showing ? anyway to get it back or is it a waste of time trying .i do i have a few things on it but nothimg important

      Most probably knackered. Although try cleaning the pins on it with some alcohol if you have any lying about.

          ok quick update and thanks for the help ,ive done what everyone suggested but ive had a good look at the card itself and noticed, that a small bit of plastic at the side of it next to the terminals has broken off,so im thinking its goosed

              i was going to ask if it was locked? little open/locked tab on side?
