Twitter for windows Computer ?

I have never ever used Twitter at all, so I dont know anything about it.

I was wondering if it is at all possible to get Twitter on your home computer (that has windows 7 x64 installed) ?

If not, then is there another program similar that everyone uses and will work on a computer ?

I am so tired of that rubbish facebook, looking for something different, but something that loads of people use.

I know there is "Paltalk", but that is kinda rubbish too unless you pay ??'s for the premium service which is a rip off.

Anyone any Ideas ? I am sure there must be plenty people that also feel the same way, hopefully someone can suggest
something ?

ok thanks R_J, I think I understand a bit more now, it looks like twitter isn't the actual program being used but you need some sort of "app" for windows pc to make twitter work, correct ?

If so, I see quite a few listed on that link you showed that are "free" as I requested, which one do I go for, whats the best and easiest for a twitter beginner ??

Woops, I see one actually called "Twitter" too but they reckon its quite poor, hmmmmm, makes me wonder now ? Maybe you R_J or someone else in the know about all this stuff could please tell me ?

I haven't got a clue with Twitter, I have never ever even seen it in use or anything, so that's why.

Hi Saltire, Twitter is similar to Digital Kaos in so far as you have to join by filling in details such as name, e-mail etc. It depends on whether you want to be you on twitter or whether you might want to go under an assumed name like Saltire. They send you an e-mail to confirm your membership and after that you can type in names of people you might like to 'follow' and some might 'follow' you in return.

I like it for the links to other unknown sites that might turn up in someones post or 'tweet'.

If you have google chrome web browser then twitter will work fine on that. I say this because of the amount of videos and music sometimes posted on twitter.

I dont have google chrome though just IE and FF, didnt think I would have to install another browser to use it, heard before that google chrome is terrible, that is why I am very reluctant to install it, is there not another way I can just do it using IE or FF ?

its cool, I seen a link for it on msn and simply clicked it and joined twitter and am now on it using it
