my uncle has a asus laptop and it seems to be stuck on updating 6 of 15 ,tried switching off and on ,but it just comes back to that window ,been doing it for about 8 hours now ,any advice please ?

Try pressing ctrl-alt-del.

done it now thanks ,eventually started again ,seems he was downloading updates then when they got half way he just shut it down ,bless him ,anyway he will recover like his pc did .

Best option for these is to let windows download them in the background, but you choose when to instal them.
However before they instal, they are downloaded so, it seems to have stalled somehwere. Without knowing more about the system and the enviroment be really hard to tell.
